Acupuncture

Acupuncture is the insertion of sterile, single-use filiform needles into the body to achieve balance or homeostasis and stimulate the body’s natural healing response. Acupuncture points are chosen based on Chinese medicine principles and the patient’s symptoms, presentation, and health goals.


Chinese Medicine

Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine consists of the use of plants, animal products, and minerals combined in multi-herb formulas to help treat various health conditions, such as body pain, depression, anxiety, insomnia, poor digestion, seasonal allergies, common colds, etc. Chinese Herbal Medicine can come in tablets, capsules, granules, tinctures, tea pills, or as a decoction of raw herbs that is drunk as a tea. The delivery method of the herbs can be selected based on patient preference and ease of ingestion.


Massage Therapy

The manipulation of soft tissue and fascia to promote relaxation, reduce muscle tension, and improve range of motion and mobility of the body. The massage techniques that we use are an integration of Chinese medical massage, Tui Na, and Western therapeutic massage. Deep tissue techniques are used sparingly, and acupuncture may be recommended instead for challenging areas.


Energy Work

Energy work, comprising of Reiki and Craniosacral Therapy, is a holistic practice that involves channeling universal life force or working with the patient's energy to help balance, heal, and remove blockages from the body and mind.


I earned my Doctorate at the Pacific College of Health and Science in acupuncture and Chinese medicine. My Doctorate focused on integrative medicine with research and specialization on treating mental health conditions. I am also NCCAOM board-certified in acupuncture and Chinese medicine and licensed with the Minnesota State Medical Board.

I provide my patients with an approachable, safe space for their personal growth and healing. I am especially passionate about alleviating pain, cultivating emotional wellness, treating mental illness, healing trauma, and women’s health, and fertility. I also have considerable clinical experience in treating many different health conditions including post-op surgeries and joint replacements, acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions, sports injuries, allergies, sinus infections, digestive disorders, and geriatric health conditions, to name a few.

Caitlin holds a Master’s Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the American Academy of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Roseville, MN. She enjoys exploring all facets of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), including acupuncture, cupping, herbal medicine, moxibustion, gua sha, and bloodletting. Dr. Alisha Sabouneh (she/her/hers) focuses on treating the whole patient: mind, body, and spirit. She has a keen ability to meet patients where they are at and to provide them with education and resources to further their healing process beyond the treatment room. She is a true believer in comprehensive integrative care and provides her patients with individualized treatment plans that best suit their condition(s) and needs.

Throughout her experience, Alisha has treated a wide array of conditions. While she has enjoyed treating all these conditions, pain management, orthopedics, mental health, women’s health, and oncology are of special interest to her. She has substantial training in cupping, gua sha, tui na, moxibustion, plum blossom, and electro-acupuncture.
